The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) is the world’s largest specialty nursing organization – a community of acute and critical care nurses offering unwavering professional and personal support in pursuit of the best possible patient care.

As a leader in the nursing industry, AACN embarked on a mission to create a new brand that connects to the emerging millennial generation and their existing community.  It was critical that the digital experience be best-in-class to serve all their nurses' needs such as continuing education, advanced certification, and the dissemination of medical resources.   

The experience had to deliver on multiple objectives: to increase user engagement, provide a platform to distribute development resources, increase satisfaction and retention, and the acquisition of new members. 

Charles led a team of user experience, interface designers, and visual artists through a 18-month long project from pitch to launch.  Key project phases included branding, user experience design and architecture, prototyping, and a completely new UI design and layout.  The end product consisted of a responsive website optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile; connected to a CMS that allowed for easy updating and routine maintenance.
